Understanding the operational roles is essential to completing an effective assessment of any workplace. Establishing what each person has to complete at what time is a very important consideration in a full ergonomic assessment.

As well as the basic job/workplace considerations the individual and any of their musculoskeletal history must be considered,  It is never a one size fits all approach.



At Physiosense we therefore use a three stage process 

• An Employee Survey/Discussion
• Ergonomic assessment with recommendations (photographs and report)
• Follow up review to assess the impact of any adopted changes to the workplace or behaviours of those in the workplace.
  

The employee's feedback is crucial to the implimentation if ergonomic change is to be successful.  Its not just about having the correct ergonomic setup but also the commitment to apply any recommendations regularly.  In short good habits for some of the time are better than bad habits all of the time. Unloading of sensitized body tissues can create a significant improvement in workplace comfort. Various studies will attest that this not only improves employee workplace satisfaction  but also productivity.  Many alterations can be fairly inexpensive,  often is it is just being educated on better ways of managing the equipment and physical space that is already available.
