Manual Handling Education
"Manual Handling" education is all about learning basic facts about lifting, loads and the effect that this has on the body. The older style presentation placing an emphasis on complex anatomy and the potential for catastrophic injuries only serve to create negative concepts that lead to many smaller injuries quickly becoming bigger problems. An understanding of basic physics and load planning will help significantly more than a dangerous level of back pathology being communicated to your employees.
The courses presented by Physiosense requires some initial input from the workplace so that a more relevant and directed presentation can be created. Aspects of manual handling specific to any organisation include cycle times, load weights and shape, repetition and This allows for the consideration of any specific areas in the workplace that may be appearing more consistently in an organisations injury reports. As part of an orientation package or as part of an ongoing workplace education program we try to make this a meaningful experience so that the information provided can be clearly understood and better processes implemented.
